6 July 2022 – FutureFeed was awarded Winner of The Australian Financial Review 2022 Sustainability Awards in the Agriculture and Environment category. The awards celebrate the Australasian companies that are making real progress in tackling sustainability challenges – and delivering business value along the way.
FutureFeed Pty Ltd is the company driving the commercialisation of the Asparagopsis seaweed-based feed ingredient that significantly lowers methane emissions from livestock, established by a collaboration between CSIRO, James Cook University and Meat & Livestock Australia, with investment support from AGP Sustainable Real Assets – SparkLabs Cultiv8, GrainCorp, Harvest Road and Woolworths.
FutureFeed holds the rights to the method patent for reducing methane emissions using Asparagopsis and provides licences to growers around the globe to supply the market with quality Asparagopsis seaweed. Backed by research and development, the discovery is creating new industries for coastal communities. FutureFeed has licensees across Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, Canada and Europe.
