Assetz ANZ is looking for an Investment Associate based in our Sydney CBD office.

The Investment Associate role has a dynamic scope including reviewing potential investments in Australia and New Zealand, implementing reporting and control systems and designing, building and executing financial modelling throughout the project life cycle. Position purpose

Reporting to the Assetz ANZ Development Director, this role has a dynamic scope with all-rounder execution including design and implementation of feasibility and reporting modelling, driving the evaluation, underwriting and due diligence of new investment opportunities and managing portfolio of existing investments. Key responsibilities of the Investment Associate include construction of a fit-for-purpose feasibility model, undertaking financial and commercial assessments, applying financial modelling analysis models, forecasting investment outcomes, using statistical tools, assessing economic data and market landscape, developing/implementing reporting processes and reviewing portfolio performance.

The Investment Associate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, providing returns analysis and drafting investment papers, performing deal structuring and due diligence, and review/ update reporting formats for performance management. The role requires strong technical fundamentals of investment management with prior financial modelling skills (independence on modelling of new deals and scenarios) and preferably some experience with asset management and reporting. 

The Investment Associate will also support the Group’s capital raise activities including identification and filtering of potential capital raise advisors, development of investment proposals and investment memorandums and evaluation of offers received. The individual will be expected to have an in-depth understanding of AGP business strategy and step-in to support Company management and broader team in day-to-day operations as required.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Reviewing potential investments in Australia and New Zealand for strategic fit to Assetz ANZ mandate.
• Implementation of reporting and control systems to ensure feasibility, investment and compliance requirements are met.
• Preparing investment documents (including investment committee, monthly fund reports and board papers).
• Design, build and execution of financial modelling throughout the project life cycle (Acquisition through to project completion).
• Managing transactional processes (e.g. due diligence process).
• Reviewing and negotiating transactional documentation with financiers and funders, which include the competitive funding tenders, negotiation of transaction terms, property valuation, cost verification with quantity surveyor, legal documentation processes and management of post-settlement reporting. 
• Providing support services to key stakeholders, including current and potential investors across AGP’s Australian and global businesses and senior team members from deal origination to deal execution.
• Business development initiatives, including meeting with potential capital partners and debt providers.
• Support AGP group companies in deal review and execution, third-party capital raising and investor reporting.
• Portfolio management and reporting.

Essential qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, property economics or related field. 
• MBA or CFA designation (desirable).
• Five+ years of experience in investment analysis, financial modelling and related fields with the ability to develop and manage complex business models.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Power Point skills.
• Experience in a Big Four accounting firm or financial services firm is preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure or real estate sector exposure. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
